Corrections & removals
How to fix a mistake on TrackFame, and how people we write about can ask for information to be corrected or removed.
At a glance
- Found an error? Use “Report incorrect information” on the profile, or the contact form.
- We acknowledge within 2 business days and fix verified errors within 7 days.
- People we profile can ask for corrections or removal; private details are always removed.
- Accurate information about someone’s public role may stay where the public interest outweighs privacy — and you can appeal.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.
1.Reporting an error
We want every profile to be right. If you spot a mistake — a wrong date, an outdated position, a broken source — please tell us:
- Signed in? Use Report incorrect information on the profile and choose “Incorrect information” or “Outdated”. Add what is wrong and, ideally, a link to a reliable source.
- Not signed in? Use the contact form with the subject “Correction to a profile”, including the profile’s web address.
We acknowledge correction requests within 2 business days and aim to resolve verified errors within 7 days. If we cannot verify a change, we will explain why.
2.If a profile is about you
If you are the person a profile is about, or their authorised representative, you can ask us to correct, update or remove information, or to remove the profile altogether. Use the contact form with the subject “Removal / privacy request”, or email support@trackfame.com, and include:
- the profile’s web address and the exact information concerned;
- what you would like us to do, and why;
- for a representative, evidence that you act for the person.
To protect people against impersonation we may ask you to confirm your identity — for example by replying from an official email address or verified social-media account. We use what you send only to handle your request.
3.How we decide
We will always remove, as quickly as possible: private contact details or addresses, identity and financial numbers, information about family members who are not public figures, images you own that we may not use, and anything that is inaccurate.
We will usually update or remove sensitive details (such as health, relationships or religion) that are not clearly part of your public life, and outdated information that no longer reflects you.
We may keep accurate, well-sourced information about your public work and role where the public interest in it outweighs your privacy interests — for example achievements, public statements, offices held or widely reported events. This balance reflects data-protection law (including the “right to erasure” in the GDPR and DPDP Act) and freedom of expression. Your request may also lead us to reconsider whether you meet our inclusion standards at all — if you no longer do, we will remove the profile.
4.Timelines and appeals
We acknowledge requests within 2 business days and reply with a decision within one month, usually much sooner. While we review a serious privacy concern we may hide the information concerned. If you disagree with our decision, reply to us and a senior editor who was not involved will look again. You can also complain to your data-protection authority; see our privacy policy.
5.Requests about people who have died
Requests about people who have died can be sent by their family or estate. We will correct errors and remove private details, and will consider other requests with sensitivity, while keeping accurate information about their public life and legacy.
6.Comments, accounts and copyright
To report a comment, use the flag option next to it. You can delete your own comments at any time. Comments are removed when they break our community guidelines. You can edit or delete your own account in Settings; to get a copy of your data, see our privacy policy. For images or text you own, see copyright.
